BACKSTAGE
CLIENT: GENTON PRODUCTION
ROLE: ART DIRECTION & ANIMATION
Géraldine Maillet approached me to design and create the graphics for her latest documentary series, Backstage, dans les coulisses de la Mode, airing on Canal Plus. The series follows the journey of three fashion brands between two fashion week events, featuring Paul & Joe, Benjamin Benmoyal, and Maison Pierre Cardin. I wanted to craft a dynamic title sequence, layering different textures and elements to form a vivid mood board, an inspiring and ever-evolving piece that would captivate the viewer, mirroring the bold, fast-paced, and constantly changing nature of the fashion world.
BENJAMIN BENMOYAL
For Benmoyal, I was drawn to the intricate craftsmanship, the use of weaving, magnetic bands, and a sense of experimentation that runs through his designs. I needed textures that would allow his visionary and innovative approach to materialize.
MAISON CARDIN
For Maison Cardin, I envisioned a blend of the futuristic and the vintage, inspired by the bold, colorful designs that define the maison’s aesthetic. I aimed to balance this dynamic contrast, capturing the essence of both past and future in a way that felt both audacious and timeless.
PAUL & JOE
With Paul & Joe, I focused on the brand’s delicate use of color and its playful, yet refined patterns. The soft, lightweight textures were key to evoking a sense of fragility and elegance, which I wanted to convey in the collages. Through this delicate approach, I sought to honor the brand's whimsical yet sophisticated spirit, balancing soft visuals with intricate details.
